The sector teaching faculty currently invovles 23 professors and teachers.
Of these, 8 Candidates of Sciences, 12 Masters of Art, without a degree - 3.
 
The main goal of the sector is to ensure the effective management of educational and academic activities, implementation of basic and additional trainig programs.
In a strategic perspective, the foreign language sector is positioned as an information and communication, creative, research structure that supports fundamental education and spirituality as a guarantee of personal development and wealth of the nation and provides training for highly qualified and competitive specialists in the labor market in the field of language knowledge and educational activities.
The sector is improving the content of training programs in accordance with dynamically changing market requirements based on a competency-based approach in conjunction with employers implementation of te educational process by introducing the up-to-date training programs and technologies; continuous improvement and updating of the educational resources.
The relevance of students' qualifications is determined by involving employers and specialists in writing training programs.

Academic Life
The faculty of the sector conducts the educational process in the following disciplnes:
- Foreign language and Professional foreign language for students of all training programs of the university;
- Foreign (professional) language for undergraduates of all training programs of the university;
- Disciplines for students of the training program "Foreign Language: Two Foreign Languages";
- Disciplines for postgraduates of the training program "Foreign Language: Two Foreign Languages";
- Disciplines for students of the specialty "Translation Business".
The faculty of the sector conducts the educational process in the form of interactive training based on cutting-edge information technologies; regular work is carried out to update the teaching system in the field of education.
To train highly qualified personnel and engage students in various forms of pedagogical activity, the sector enhance partnership with educational institutions of the city (schools, gymnasiums, lyceums, colleges).
Currently, students of the training programs are studying 2 other languages of their choice of 4 foreign languages: English (main), French, German and Arabic.

Research Activities of Faculty and Students of the Sector
Research work is a significant and integral part of the university’s activities, in which university teachers, undergraduates and postgraduates are involved.
The sector faculty currently are conducting research on the topic "Modern technologies for teaching multilingualism and translation business." State registration # 0116РК00124.
The foreign languages ​​sector carries out active research activities among faculty and students, with positive impact on the quality of the training programs. Faculty and students participate in international research and methodological conferences of universities in Shymkent, Kazakhstan and abroad. The teaching staff of the sector publish their papers not only in the proceedings of the international conference, but also in journals with impact factor and CCSESc.
Summary and systematized outcomes of research work are published in various journals and conference proceedings. The syllabuses of the disciplines and teaching manuals studying the interaction of linguistic, cultural, communicative factors of the language are of applied value.

Social & Educational life
Social & Educational work is an essential component of student life at the sector and is carried out continuously both within academic studying and in after-class events.
The sector conducts various thery-based and practical social and educational activities with students to form a cult of knowledge, attract students to social work, create a healthy moral and psychological climate of the educational environment, culture of a healthy lifestyle and "zero tolerance" to corruption, increase the level of culture and comprehensive development of individual students. Students and teachers of the sector are actively volunteering at orphanages, charity events.
All educational events are of great educational significance and are conducted in the Kazakh, Russian and foreign languages, help expand students’ outlook, develop their creative abilities and increase motivation to learn foreign languages.
The process of socialization of the student’s personality encompasses various spheres of community life and is implemented in the following main areas: spiritual, moral, cultural, recreational, informational.
During the academic year each tutor conducts discussions, contests, disputes, and round tables in supervised groups.

International relations
Within the framework of cooperation with universities near and far abroad the sector has established close relations with foreign universities for exchange of experience and integration into the global educational space. In addition, the sector cooperates with the Embassies of the USA, France and the British Council.
The Senior Lecturer Abdullina Zh.A. successfully finished the training courses in France and passed the international exam Habilitation at levels B1,2 and DALF C1. Teachers of the sector advanced their qualifications in Moscow, delivered lectures and conducted practical classes on academic mobility in Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan). Students of the training program "Foreign Language: Two Foreign Languages" studied at Kyrgyz State University named after A. Arabaeva on the program of academic mobility.
The British Council, the US Embassy in Nur-Sultan and the Englsih Language Teachers’ Association of Kazakhstan “KazTea” on regular basis conduct methodological seminars, read lectures for students and teachers of the sector, conduct seminars for students.
Russell MacMahon, IT Professor at the University of Cincinnati, USA, conducts online classes with students on improvising techniques for communication skills development. Abigail Homer – ETA, Fulbright Fellow, USA, held round tables and discussions with students.
Vagaweld Els - student from the Netherlands, and Jessica Riviera - student from South Africa, run a regular conversation club for university students.
Debourg Alain - an active member of the French Alliance in Shymkent, ran a seminar for Miras students, whose major is in French, dedicated to the culture and traditions of France.
The French Alliance and the French Embassy organize the annual Francophonie competition, which is very popular among the students of the sector.

Logistics and Facilities
To organize educational process of high quality and implement research activities, the sector applies classrooms equipped with computers, multimedia equipment, interactive whiteboards, necessary handouts, etc.
